Inspired by George Perec’s Especes d’espaces, this evening of video work revolves around myriad ideas and perceptions of space, slipping and processing this word and concept through structure, image and metaphor. Space as a construct, meandering between the generic and the spectacular; space as projection onto notions of the authentic, the exotic, or a thing which is almost always overlooked and ignored. Space as a device through which one negotiates and gives shape to memory, and other unreliable methods of cementing that which has past.
